Since Jules Café & Deli opened for business on July 10th this year, taking over the former Morton’s Café & Deli premises at 24d High Street, their feet haven’t touched the ground!
“We have been working tirelessly to ensure the services we provide at Jules Café & Deli cater for everyone” says owner Julie Dickinson. “To this end we have been making gradual changes over the last three months. Our food menus will now be more extensive with breakfast, lunch and afternoon treat options being available.”
In fact there will be over 75 food options available in their new menus. “The majority of our food can be taken away, too, even full English breakfasts. But, if an afternoon coffee, Iced Latte, smoothie or milkshake is what you want, we have various choices for you too. There may even be a sticky toffee pudding on the menu!”
They have recently replaced all the tables and chairs at the café, too, to make the dining experience more comfortable – whether you’re seated inside or out. They’ve just signed up for ‘Too Good to Go’, too, in a bid to fight food waste.
The even bigger news this month is that, from Monday 16th October 2023, Jules Café & Deli will be opening from 8am until 5pm, 7 days a week. Not only that, they have submitted an application to Rushcliffe Borough Council to allow them to sell alcohol on the premises. The ‘blue notice’ can be seen below.
“To extend our hours we have had to recruit extra members of staff” reveals Julie. “We therefore have pleasure in announcing our new Chef Steve Lowe will be starting shortly. Steve has many years experience in working for the NHS is a local lad to Ruddington. He will be teamed up with our existing cook Helen Brown who has worked at the café for 10 years under different ownerships. We have also recruited others to support Steve and Helen in the front of house. We are now very pleased we have a full team of hard working individuals all dedicated to providing friendly personal service to our customers.”
Additional services which can be provided by the Ruddington café include event catering: “During the last three months we have arranged funeral teas, baby showers, private dinners and children’s party packages to name a few. This could be at the café in the evening or at an arranged venue. This is in addition to our business outside catering service for management meetings and get-togethers” says Julie. “This and all other food options will soon be available to book and purchase on our website which is in development at julescafedeli.co.uk.”
Also coming soon, on Sunday afternoons (on a pre-booked basis) they will be offering traditional Sunday Lunches – either full meals or sandwiches, as required. If the alcohol licence is granted, they hope that may soon include wine – and that you will be to able to have an afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco, too. All being well, they are considering opening Friday evenings for you to call in for a tipple. And, as Christmas approaches, there could be mulled wine alongside their gingerbread lattes!
Julie adds: “So there are lots of things happening at Jules Café & Deli. We would like to thank our old and new customers from the bottom of our heart for their continued support and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon.”
